Everton and Spurs do battle at Goodison Park as the Toffee’s tough start continues.
Everton v Spurs – Saturday
Everton’s tough start to the season continues as they’ve gone to Man City and Chelsea in their last two and now they host Spurs. Crucially for the Toffees, this one’ll be at home and since Spurs haven’t looked their best this season, beating 10-man Newcastle and going down to Chelsea at home and then being held to a draw by Burnley at Wembley, Pochettino’s men look too short a price. We’re backing Everton or Draw Double Chance.
Tip: Everton-Draw
Everton v Tottenham [Double Chance]
Chelsea and Liverpool were the only sides to beat the Toffees at Goodison last term with the latter netting an injury-time winner to take the spoils, and since Everton managed to beat City and Arsenal and drew with both Spurs and Man Utd, they look to have been underestimated in the market. Spurs were only W1-D4-L0 when travelling to teams between 5th and 10th last term and the draw certainly looks a player here.
Tip: Draw
Everton v Tottenham
Indeed, it’s ended 1-1 the last two times these two have met at Goodison Park and we certainly wouldn’t put anyone off backing that correct score, but a longshot that we prefer here is in the goalscorer markets. Gylfi Sigurdsson plays his former club and he had an excellent record against the top teams last term, netting against Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs for Swansea – we’re backing him to be first goalscorer.
Tip: Gylfi Sigurdsson
