Wales took giant strides towards Russia 2018 with maximum points against Austria and Moldova last month, whilst rivals Rep. of Ireland could only manage a draw in Georgia and a defeat hosting Serbia. In fact Georgia, like Wales, have drawn five of their eight games so far, and with Gareth Bale a doubt after struggling to overcome yet another calf issue there should be some value about the stalemate. Chris Coleman’s side have drawn three out of four on the road in qualification to date, with bottom-of-the-pile Moldova the only side they’ve beaten away, while Georgia are unbeaten in five games now and also managed a 1-1 draw in Cardiff a year ago.
