Spurs look to win at Wembley for this first time this season against Borussia Dortmund.
Spurs had a miserable European campaign last term as they went out in the group stages of the Champions League and were dumped out by Gent in the last-32 stage of the Europa League. Their problems at Wembley have been well-documented and have shown no signs of improving this term as they went down 2-1 against Chelsea there and were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley. Indeed, they look far too short against a Dortmund side that has started excellently in the Bundesliga as they’re yet to concede a goal and who in fact did the double over Spurs in the Europa League in 2015/16. We’re siding with Dortmund Draw No Bet.
Tip: Borussia Dortmund
Tottenham v Dortmund [Draw No Bet]
Dortmund’s away record in the Champions League group stages is an impressive W7-D3-L2 since 2012/13 as they scored at least twice in nine of these 12 games. However, they’ve kept only three clean sheets themselves and as a result 10 of these saw more than two goals, while five had more than three. Since Spurs haven’t kept a clean sheet at Wembley in any competition since the start of last term we expect there to be goals in this one and Over 3.5 Goals looks the best bet in this match.
Tip: Over 3.5
Tottenham v Dortmund [Total Goals Over/Under]
Dortmund have won despite conceding in four of their seven group stage away wins since 2012/13, including a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane in 2015/16, and so we’re going to take a chance on the away win and both teams to score, whilst we wouldn’t put anyone off having a few quid on the 3-1 Dortmund Correct Score.
