Aside from Marcus Rashford’s breakthrough, Man Utd never really set the continent on fire last season despite going all the way in the Europa League. It was much the same in the Premier League where they drew 10 times at Old Trafford, scuppering any chance of fighting for the title. However, they appear a better side this term and have won their opening two home games, plundering six goals while retaining that excellent defensive record from before. Given Basel have lost four of five winless matches away in Europe since February 2016, and have failed to score in seven of their nine defeats in Europe since 2013/14, we expect Man Utd to win to nil.
