Watford lost just twice at home to teams outside the top-five last season

Several clubs tried to secure the services of Marco Silva over the summer and Watford will have been delighted to get their man as they’ve had an excellent start to the season, drawing with Liverpool on the opening day and winning at Bournemouth last time out. As a result, they look an excellent bet to win at odds similar to Palace against Swansea, but one we’re much more keen on.

Watford v Brighton

Brighton have shown very little in their first two games, being thoroughly outplayed by both Leicester and Man City and they look set to struggle at this level. Watford’s home form was never a concern but if they start proving they can do it on the road, as they did at Bournemouth, then Hornets fans certainly have plenty to look forward to. They were W8-D4-L2 when hosting sides outside the top-five last term and since half of those victories were by either 1-0 or 2-0 scorelines, we’re backing the win and under 2.5 Goals, particularly with Brighton offering little attacking threat but proving fairly difficult to break down
