England look to keep their great form in home internationals going against Slovakia.
Gareth Southgate prepares for his fourth home qualifier as England manager, but other than the occasional use of a back three little has changed with regards to their remarkable consistency at Wembley. The Three Lions have now won 19 of 22 unbeaten home qualifiers since 2008, but with the win at 1/3 we’re looking for a bit more value in this one. In their 12 most recent qualifiers in the capital, England have conceded just once and been ahead at both half-time and full-time, and whilst Slovakia have won six of their last eight away qualifiers away since 2014, none of the opposition they’ve faced has been of the same caliber. Indeed, five of these six victories were against sides we have ranked 94th or below, whilst the other came against the Ukraine. We’re backing a routine England/England HT/FT.
England v Slovakia [Half Time/Full Time]
England have also covered the -1 handicap in each of these most recent 12 home qualifiers, but whilst in the first seven of these the margin of victory was at least three goals on five occasions, the last five such results have been less dominant. Four of them finished 2-0, which again looks a cracking correct score punt.
Tip: England 2-0
