Accumulator: A number of bet selections in one single bet, where an amount is staked and the odds are multiplied to get the overall pay out. All results must be wins for the bet to go through as a win.
Angles: Considering past events while predicting future possibilities.
Ante Post: Placing bets days, weeks or months before they happen. Odds are better then.
Arbitrage: Betting a similar game or fixture across betting sites to take advantage of the different situations in each.
Asian Handicap: Asian handicap allows for a 0.25 goal, 0.5 goal and a 0.75 goal start. However in full goals handicap, 0-1, 1-0 or more, the less-likely team is given the respective no of goals head start and the favourite team disadvantaged by the number of goals handicapped, at the start of the game. Therefore for the anticipated results to be achieved, the teams have to overshadow this (dis)advantage. 0.5 handicaps can only be won or lost, unlike in 0.25, 0.75, 1.25 etc.) Where stakes are divided into two, half as if the goals are nil, half as the goals are half. So if one backs a team using this handicap, and the team wins by a half goal or more, s/he wins the whole bet. If they lose by half a goal or more, s/he loses the whole bet. However when a game is drawn and so the team wins by a quarter, then the bettor wins half the bet. And if the team loses by a quarter, gets half their stake returned.
