Valencia’s strong home form should add to Celta Vigo’s troubles on the road.
Valencia continued their impressive home form as they won 3-0 against Deportivo to move back up to 13th, now far away enough from relegation to be comfortable but not close enough to challenge for a European spot. Celta have an outside chance of a Europa League spot after wins in their last two saw them move to within seven points of Villarreal in 6th, holding a game in hand.
Valencia have now won four of five unbeaten home games, including fixtures against Real and Bilbao, conceding just two goals across this run. What’s more, they’ve led at the break in six of their last eight at the Mestalla as Voro looks to have found his feet at the club after they’d tried a number of different managers in recent times.
Celta Vigo have lost four of their last seven on the road and have won just three times on their travels all season, with the two most victories coming over sides in the bottom-five. Despite that poor form, Celta have only trailed at the break at Barca in their last eight matches on the road and have in fact drawn the first half in 17 of their last 23 on their travels.
